is it possible to link together rainwater drains in series around a house?

the problem I have is that I own a detached house with main services on one side and its a ‘tee’ shape and at the moment all the rainwater from the main roof and one side of the ‘tee’ runs down the drive onto the road.
I will be doing some modifications to the paths around rear of property and thus hoping I could link up in series to the main sewer at the other side of the house.

Don’t know what you might find once you start a’diggin’…but it may help to remember that you can run rain water into a foul sewer but not foul into a rainwater sewer. Happy digging.

sewers and rainwater systems are separate things. In the modern eco friendly environment, you should consider a system that allows you to collect rainwater in a storage tank for things like watering the garden – its not difficult to have the tee integrated into the existing setup in order for this to happen. Ask your nearest rainwater system supplier.

That is a big job but I see no objection to it.

Yes you can. In fact, a good idea ‘cos rainwater from your property is not supposed to run into the road and a fractious Council could make you do it. It will need some careful judging of levels and angles.

It will work and I have done somewhat the same. Keep in mind however that if you hook up to many tees you may cause a backflood condition that can cause other problems underground. Two downspots into one 4inch tube is OK , if it really rains hard you can over load the piping with too many more hookups. Run a few different sets.
