My bathroom sink drain smells like mold, what will get rid of the odor?

I have already tried dumping bleach down the bathroom drain, ended up with moldy bleach smell. LOL Tried a little bit of Drano…now what?

I thought that drains were built to take the waste that flows down the pipe and I am surprised that my bathroom drain is a smelly as this. Can anyone suggest a good drains cleaner?

Go to the hardware store they have just what you will need for a stinky bathroom drain. Which can make you sick. Are you sure drain is working the way it should.

Try dumping 1/2 cup of baking soda down. Then follow with 1/2 – 1 cup of vinegar. Wait a few minutes. Then repeat with baking soda and vinegar. Then wait a few minutes, then flush the drain with water for about 3 minutes,.

Dump a whole box of baking soda in it. add 2 cups of white vinegar. Let it sit overnight. Voila!

Try Lemon juice. Poor it a little outside of the rim of the drain and let it run down slowly. It works in the kitchen sink, so I am sure it will work in the bathroom. It smells great, but the acidity of the lemon should help get rid of the mold as well.

You may want to check below the sink for mold as well, because it may be leaking.

Okay what you should try is take a bucket and mix a bottle of Clorox with Windex. Works wonders.

  6. Alicia Parkes Said:

Some Windex contains ammonia and you never want to mix ammonia with bleach. It will cause toxic fumes.
As for your question, the other answerer’s have good ideas. If not, on to a plumber.
